I received my package of Craig Moates All-In-One PROM reading/writting/burning equipment. I wanted to be somewhat familiar with the basics so we could set up a PROM table at the git together. I even ordered some extra chips to share.

My older Toshiba laptop just quit and my new Dell is big heavy and bulky; plus the little woman is acting leary of me banging around our brand new VISTA unit. Does anyone have a working laptop that will run Windows and maybe Tuner pro or Tuner cat?

I'm sure there are those of you that can teach some of us ignorants the basics of how to at least diagnose & understand the basic working perameters of our ECM's.

Anybody have thoughts of weather we should even bother with PROM's for this GTG?
As for a portable computer; I'd want to share it with anyone who shows up and wants to do a drive along diagnostic check so we can look at the graphs afterwards. I don't have a bunch of extra bucks, but I do have an old rifle, pictures of my sister naykid, etc

My poor laptop is sluggish, the battery is no good, and it's full of music(not to mention it's over 4 years old). Even with good internet service it takes me 15 mins. to check my email. I think a PROM session would help many of us, and I'd be willing to bring my Moates stuff if we had enough laptops.

 

Maybe at the gtg next month.
