Smog Pased.

Passed smog today YAY ME!!!! Was surprised how well, I was not even close to any of the limits, and with a 20 year old cat. I was below limits, and below averages, been putting it off for months waiting to fail.

Re: Smog Pased.

That's good news. Just curious, are you still running with the original EGR valve?

Re: Smog Pased.

Have original system, but new valve. Replaced it with normal tune up stuff a year or so ago when I redid the intake gaskets. Plugs, wires, coil, distributor, old one was falling apart, o2, and a bunch of other stuff pretty much all sensors.

For sure, I have no clue if that kit has a kommiefornia CARB# on it of not, I know the new Vortech does.

Re: Smog Pased.

This kit has the ca leagal stamp and # on it, and the manuals i bought (that will SOME day get here) say it is ca smog leagal, but we shall see, i may also just swap out to a 5" sc pulley when i smog, so it will never see boost on the smog dino. not sure.

Re: Smog Pased.

PASSING A SMOG TEST IS GOOD NEWS...

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY ROCK BACK ON THE ROAD AND TO HAVE SOME CHP OR LOCAL PULL ME OVER.

"YES SIR, THAT IS CORRECT. THIS IS MY DAD'S CAR AND HE LIVES IN NEVADA" I AM JUST TAKING IT FOR A SPIN WHILE HE RESTS AT HOME...

I HATE CALI SMOG LAWS...THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE MONEY OFF US.

Re: Smog Pased.

Also I will be changing quite a few things on the kit so I am not sure if that will kill the smog legal status, also does anyone know if you can splice and move a MAF? If I move it I can have an 18"-20" intake path, otherwise it will be like 5' long, original routing. And I want to build an intercooler, so that will already kill 2 lbs or so of boost, I would like to shorten the track any way possible. I may also use a water/air intercooler, witch I don’t really like, to shorten the intake, but I don’t know yet. It is kind of hard, because all of the as guys using this unit run mustangs, and are primarily track cars and they just say use methanol or nitrous as a intercooler. And any other discussion is dismissed.

Re: Smog Pased.

Oh I will have n20 a little 50-75 wet shot will be in order, but I plan getting the sc running good first, then some suspension work will be in order. How much power will a stock l98 take 450 bhp? With the charger and new exhaust I should be 275-300 at the wheels, like 350bhp. Hey Del how much power are you making, and how much boost are you making?
