Look up Pearl Performance. They are in Franklin Blvd(South Sac). I am not sure if they are still in business but the previous owner has a spot in the building and he only does balancing. His name is Rod.

Re: Machine shop
Yes. I had them worked on a honda civic cyl head. Hehehe. And also that's where I bought my 400 block from which I am currently using on Jolly. It was already machined but when I brought it to Rex Hutchinson to get it assembled, I had them check it and found out that the deck was not machined parallel. Rex H. had to fix it. I would not have them build me a street/strip car.
Back in 2007, Rod owns the building and leasing it to Mr. Pearl, hence Pearl Performance. But he has a space in the building and all he does is do rotating assembly balancing. His balancer was brand spanking new at that time. Go check it out since I don't know if he is still there in business.
Your best option is just go to Rex Hutchison. If memory serves me right, I think I paid $1000 back in 2001 to have my rotating assembly balanced, block parallel decked and short block assembled.
They won't be able to tell you how much it cost exactly to balance until they spin it and find out how much it's off balance. The Mallory counter weights are not that cheap. Mine was not way off so it did not cost much.

Good quality work is not cheap. You get what you pay for & it will show in the long run.

Thomas 707.. Give a shout over to a fellow by the name of Glenn at a shop called Nichols & Sons. Its not too far from Pearl Performance mentioned above. 916.446.7806
Terrell.... I dont know if they are still around but I had my rotating assembly balanced by a shop called Gerolamy's. They offered to build the long block, but I wanted to learn on my own. Its in carmichael/Fair Oaks. Its right behind Rite Aid at the corner of Fair Oaks and Manzanita... If they are still open their number would be 916.485.8288
