Looks good bro. My last spark plug was pretty hard to get to with the hvac box in place I have stock manifolds.. I finished up z28fast1's hvac box and to change his plugs Its a tight fit as well with the hawks. but its possible.
Also with that intake id be very careful at times of rain. Not sure if anyone mentioned it.

Re: Project Winter Storm
Well here is an update. Almost done with this project. Just got some metal to fill in the notch, A/C box is pretty much done. I mocked up the A/C unit. Looking pretty good. But i do need to buy a 4th Gen Radiator. The 3rd gen wont fit with the 4th gen A/C lines. I also put in some heat shield protector in the tranny tunnel. Im getting a new Passenger brake line made. Should have it tomorrow. So once i get the Notch and brake line finished. The engine will be going in next. Still cant decide if i should stick with my stock single fan or get a dual setup. A Windstar fan would be ideal. Here are some pics

I was thinking about using 4th gen fans, but the Windstar can pull 3,000cfm. Ant, you know where i can get a 4th gen rad for a good price. Autozone had one for $110

picknpull modeso put a 98 out like 5 days ago....maybe?
I got mine used at Kennedy's Auto Wreckers in Stockton. Down the street from picknpull a few years back for 75.00...
Check Mel's auto wreckers and Debco auto wreckers on Navy Dr. (not too from you) they may have one.

Glad to hear you are still knocking the projects out!!
I would def get a new rad from autozone. Thats what I did. 110 isnt much more than 75, and you get a lifetime warranty. Remember, these are aluminum core, plastic tank radiators. They tend to leak after a while. First time you have a problem, and you swap it, you are WAY ahead of buying two used ones. RadiatorBarn makes really nice units for very reasonable prices and free shipping. Same basic construction...but their quality is sometimes better than the ones that the zone gets. A little more money too. I get my Jeep rads from them since they make all metal units for the Jeeps with a choice of rows. But that one from autozone will serve you well. Its all I ever ran in my thirdgens.

Re: Project Winter Storm
Yeah i got a few updates. Its not much. Been pretty busy with work and having no extra money to spend. But im almost done. I put the stock exhaust back on so i can get her smoged in order to get my tags. Then once i pass, i will install the Long tubes and new exhaust and get her tuned and ready for the race this June 11th. It seems like i got so little to do, but it seems to take a little longer than i plan. Here are some pics
Front clips is back on

Air intake box to trap cold air

Painted rear brakes to match my front brakes finally

Solid motor mounts i got from LS1tech.com

Hawks tranny mount

Engine shot. Even though it still looks like a wire mess, its going to look 10x better once i pass smog

My ghetto power steering cooler brackets lol. I got a lot of heat going to the rad. So we will have to see if the engine will run ok

Tranny cooler lines

Thats pretty much it right now. Next check im going to fill her up with oil and water. Go to the exhaust shop. Get her smog and then put her back on jacks to install the Long tubes. Lots to do before June 11th.....

I think I'll race again next month I know I have plenty to improve on. Some people say I needed to increase my timing from 24 under wot to something over 30. Input?

Re: Project Winter Storm
Well IMO you want as much timing as you can w/o having detonation. You build your car to be a pump gas car that turns a good number..well great number in my eyes. You can manually go in and set timing with your Holley efi setup? I thought the computer controlled all that by what it reads and adjusts accordingly. I think you if you hook up. get the 60' down. you'll be waaaay down there farther than you think. I mean your virgin pass you 11.99....you'll get even faster...have too.

Re: Project Winter Storm
Nice Joey. I didn't realize you were trying to squeeze in a smog before too. Does your tuner give you a tune on the street, or at the dyno? I don't recall seeing #'s for yours before.
Travis You have to datalog, or view your logs that the Holley recorded to see what your car wants more, or less of. I don't know how that sytem manages the air/fuel/timing, but in simple terms it's as Ant said, run as much timing w/o any detonation, knocking, pinging, etc. You know the car should be a lot faster, so get out there and find out what it needs.

Im glad i have to do smog right now. This gives me 2 more years of fun with the Long tubes. The tuner does a street tune. Pretty good at it too.

Comin along nicely bruh! Where did you source the tubing for the CAI? I was lookin at intake hoses.com, but they seem to stay backordered on a lot of their items. So I'm lookin at turbohoses.com. I think that's the name. Any way. Keep plugging.. our clock is ticking. One full month away from the drags.

Here is a little update. The car turns on with no problems. Start up perfect. Even after its been sitting since january. Got to love the LS1 motors. The only problem that i have right now is trying to bleed the air out of the cooling system. I left the rad cap off but the car will not cool down. Upper and lower hoses feel cool. If i squeeze the upper hose, you can hear air. I ran out of coolant. But i think im on the right track. I never had this issue before, but then again i did put in a 4th gen rad. Im thinking the upper outlet is a little lower than the engine likes it but i think it will work. Heck everyone else got there 4th gen rad to work.

Re: Project Winter Storm
Those engines don't have a bleeder on them huh...if their is air it will eventually work its way it's way out it needs to "burp". Is the radiator fill point lower than the highest coolant point on the engine? You might have to pull of a hose on top of engine or sensor in coolant passageway to get air out too

The easiest way I have found to fill the cooling system up is To first fill the engine up through the upper radiator hose. Then attach it to the radiator and fill the radiator up. No burping required.

Hey Joey my parts catalog shows a bleeder screw in the therostat outlet on most LS1 engines
