To damage or not to damage?

I plan on getting a paint job in the spring, I know during this time hail will be falling as well, so maybe I'll let the insurance pay for it. I have a two car garage, but I have three cars. I've checked with my insurance and my rate will not go up for hail damage. I don't like the feeling of seeing my car get punished in order to get a new paint job or windshield/back glass. I don't have $1000+ dollars to get a paint job. Would anyone here on purpose put their car in harms way in order to get something new for it.

not purposely, but when my old car got hit by a semi it payed off in the end because i collected more than i payed for it and i got to buy a better car. I dont worry about hail because mines a ttop car and we never seem to get hail that can break glass.

What are your other two cars, one of them must be hail damage worthy, come to think of it if i had a beater id let it get damaged for the benefit of my t/a

one is a 2000 honda civic and the other is a 2001 CRV. Honestly the camaro will stay inside and the civic will be out side.

It's not like he's going outside witha ball-peen hammer and installing "hail damage", he is simply not going to put one of his other cars in harms way. I don't see anything wrong with it, except for the fact that your Camaro will be getting pounded while 2 Hondas sit protected in the garage. But when you have a 2 car garage, and more than 2 cars, you must pick which one you put in harm's way. At my house, my truck and my wife's 94 Grand Am sit in the garage, while the GTA sits in the driveway. I say let what happens, happen, but don't go hunting the green clouds looking for a free paintjob.

You think big evil insurance corporations say "gee, its going to cost this much to stay running this year, and there was this much fraud so we are charging this much this year"

I dont believe that crap, they charge as high as the competition allows them to get away with. If this was the case it would be illegal for people to build houses in the hurricane belt and gulf coast states. BTW, how do you like buying new houses for all those people every 5 to 15 years?

Not to damage. I can't take seeing my car get pounded. I've landed a good job, my camaro will be driven about 20 miles a month. I'll save for a new engine and transmission.
