Hi, I just picked up a 86 Firebird V6. Anyone that belongs to the UFBA.org know how long it takes to get the vaidation email. It has been 2 days and I emailed the presidency but have heard no response. I have a bunch of engine swap emissions questions I would like to ask on the UFBA.org board from those who have done the V6 to V8 Swaps in Utah and still are street legal. If your from Utah and have done the swap can you PM me your email until I get validated on the UFBA.org boards?

Thanks,
Rob

I had mine in about 6 hours.
Was you a previous member? Have you attended any events?
You will have to start attending events to get acess to the boards.
If you attended any events in the last year make sure the Admins know that, it will help you get in.

As far as emissions go, I live in a non-emissions controlled area of Utah so I don't have to worry about it too much.
What questions do you have? I can try to help as best I can.

Keenan (Snakebite) @ UFBA

Oh, I didn't know you had to attend anything first and I must have missed it on the boards where it said that.. I wanted to get to know some people on the boards gather some info before making any kind of commitment, plus the car I bought has a seized engine and would be hard for me to attend anything in the near future. I emailed the president and the Vice President and have had no response. I figured someone would have contacted me to tell me something.

Thanks for the offer for info, I will send you a few questions. I do have emissions in my area so not sure how far I can push the limits.

Thanks,
Rob

Wish I could help more.
You don't need to even own a F-Body to attend an event. Just come as you are. I live in Price, so I only get to a couple events a year myself.

I own both V6 & V8 3rd Gens.

As far as getting emission when doing a V8/V6 swap, the best method would be to drop the entire engine and ECM from a V8 doner car into your V6. My poor V6 car is in need to a new heart transplant too. Been considering a V8 for it myself.
If you try to go carb, I am almost positive they will not pass your car.

If I can do anything to help just ask.

Keenan

Thanks again, I will try to attend an event in the near future, but would hate to have to wait until an event before I could start meeting people and talking on the UFBA.Org boards.
