Any TGO folks close to Rapid City, South Dakota? Figured I'd post here since the Midwest region seems to be based out of Chi-town. That's a helluva a lot further than Nebraska, Wyoming or Colorado.

Re: Black Hills, South Dakota

To be honest with ya our reginal board here is pretty slow, and I have never seen any SD members post up here.

Black Hills is a pretty amazing area, and cannot wait to get back up there for a visit. What is the name of that BIG car show in downtown that they have every year? I have been wanting to drag my car up there.

No kiddin'! You're more than welcome here. About 6-7 hours from the Denver metro area.

Are you talking about the Counts Car Show? I'm not originally from SD, moved here from Northern Minnesota.

The Regional forum descriptions don't include the Dakotas. I suppose you on the west side are closer to "Rockies", while the easterners more mid-West. "Tweeners", you could say.

At any rate, you're welcome wherever you're the most comfortable. It's true the forum doesn't get a whole lot of traffic, but I don't want to prater on just to make it look like it does. Feel free to bring up things of regional interest!

BTW, my older brother lives in northwest Nebraska, just a little over 2 hours from Rapid City. I don't know if I'll make it up there all that often (was up there two weeks ago for the first time), but at least there is a little bit of a connection for me.

Rapid City! Hell I'll be going there this summer to visit family. I won't be in the GTA though. The 2.2l sunfire gets WAY better gas mileage.

South Dakota is amazing in my opinion! I live in Groton, SD which is 20 miles east of Aberdeen. Good to see there are others in South Dakota. PM me if you are interested in helping me get a gathering started. I would really like to see something in this area. any type of car is welcome. preferably sports cars and lifted/lowered trucks.

Re: Black Hills, South Dakota

wow! there a few of us on this board. I have lived here in south dakota my whole life, and for the last 7 summers we have vacationed in the black hills in our 1991 z28 and we never tire of it. our cars are great touring cars and can handle narrow, winding, roads with ease. we are complimented every trip about our car and always turn heads. I lived in aberdeen for 18 years, a little farther south now, in woonsocket, my home town. We are always interested in meeting like minded enthusiasts. I bet you will be suprised at the responses from people in or near south dakota. good luck. randy

Sunday, August 15.. Show time is 11AM to 4PM. Trophies at 3 PM.... Usually someone there by 8AM to start checking in cars. We might have a cruise on Saturday, before the show, and some sort of get together Sat. night... I'll put more info up on it when plans are finalized...looking for some cruize night sponsorship right now....

Re: Black Hills, South Dakota

We just got back from our annual trip to the Black Hills. Weather was great, car handled like a dream. and I was quizzed by a late model corvette owner (and complimented) about the age of my camaro.I love driving this car, especially mountain driving. I also do not mind seeing the look on late model vehicle drivers faces when we ease out from a stop light. They forget about cutting us off! I love this car! Randy

We should get a event or get together somewhere in southdakota this year! I would like to drive out to the hills near rapid, so you guys got my vote.
I know there is a Camaro club out in Rapid now, but they seemed kind of stuck up towards us 3rd genners.

If you guys all wanna pick a date to come to Rapid that would be awesome to have a bunch of us cruise around. I have a few f-body friends in Rapid.
