I have an 89 RS, when it gets hot and I shutit down sometimes it will not start again.
Anyone have any Ideas.

Hey man, i can think of a couple of things that could be wrong.
Maybe your starter is having sort of a heat soak problem. I am not sure of the correct terminology for it, but that is close. Me and bob thought the starter on my bird was doing that, but it turned out to by VATS system.
Do you have that little black chip in your ignition key? If it does, we could bypass it and see if that solves the problem. I think there is a tech article somewhere on the site on how to do that. I will look and see.
Does it click when turned over? Or just act like a dead horse?
I would also check all the starter connections, that would cause problems at all different times though, and should not have anything to do with heat.
Thats all i can think of for now, i am sure more people will chime in.

that tottally sounds like the starter is getting to hot. what temp is the car at when you shut it off?? good wiring??
i keep waiting for my starter to do the same thing with my 3inch y-pipe and cat. the ext starter ill get in a mini-starter and heat shield.
