some progress
well got a few things done today, new high pressure fuel pump, aluminum drive shaft, lakewood lower control arms, J&P panhard rod, and bmr front chassis brace are on. just ordered my new wiring harness for the tpi and should be here by the end of the week. I will admit my experience of tearing into a motor is close to none so I may need some help with the manifold change and vaccum line things. if anybody would be willing to come out to crete and maybe help spin a few wrenches maybe next week that would be really awsome. dinner is on me if you made the trek.

the part that makes the swap a bit confusing for me is that I am going from tbi to tpi but the tpi setup came off an 85 IROC soooo it only has the two vaccum ports on the back instead of the three that I need and all the other MAF to SD stuff that goes with it. got the fuel rail and runner plugged. I just ordered the tbi to tpi integrator harness from S&P to make things a little easier for me. I know.... I know the harness was a bit pricey for what it does but it should make things clearer for me. and here is a question for you, on the tbi I have a brace that runs from the manifold to the back of the belt tensioner. now the tpi manifold doesn't seem to have this same mounting point on the manifold. in fact I don't see any point to bolt it to at all. do I not need this? I thought that brace is what keeps belt setup together? some light would be helpful. and also fruity I see you are using the BBK regulator like I am. the bolt was of course too long and had to be cut down. I cut it about half way, still have to tighten it up to get it to clear. how far did you cut it and what pressure did you set it at?
