Spring Cleaning Tips
Couple notes I put together over the years of owning cars and having to store some of them too.
Get it clean:
Hope you kept it covered or washed while it was stored. Letting stuff sit on the paint is your own worst enemy. Get it clean and give it a new fresh coat of wax.
The same applies to your wheels/rims
The battery:
Get it on a charger. The leading cause of failure on the CS series alternators (which we have) is overheating from weak or dead batteries. Jumping it and letting it run does not charge the battery correctly anyhow and will only overheat the alt. from running overtime to attempt to charge the battery.
Check it out:
Do the above and reset the TPS and IAC while u are there and give it fresh fluids(oil/trans/power sterring) if it sat for a prolonged period of time. Condensation builds up and is made much worse if the car was never "driven" long enough to let all the moisture burn out of the fluids.
Did u park it knowing it needed a tuneup? Fresh plugs/wires/cap and rotor make a big difference on power and economy. Fresh gas is always a big one, becuase after the 3-6 mth range it does start to varnish and lose some of its potency.
Just some things to think about
