Re: hello everybody

well alot depends on the gun and how u spray. But I know with PPG i have not had any probs. That the only paint I have done a Pearl white paint job on. But pretty much the trick is to really watch your over laps. And were u state and stop. The one way to work around the stops is to walk the whole car. That way u will not get more coats were u start and stop. And with the over laps on my last coat i will just do a light drop coat if i see any spots that look weird.. Other than that its really no differnt than just shotting base.. O one more thing it does help to nib down any dirt before u go on the pearl.. If u do this u will have to spray one more coat of the base. But its worth it. and tack everything really good. even your paper.

Re: hello everybody

Thanks for the info. I'm using an HVLP gun with the PPG DBC series as they say it lays out better.
I've done the jambs and underside of the hood and it went on quite well. However it was the first time I ever crisscrossed the spray pattern. Don't notice any tiger striping on that so I hope the rest of the car turns out just as well.
Hopefully I'll show you the results in the next week or so. Been too busy playing with my new 72 Camaro!
