overall: had about 15 people through mfba and tgo, a few off chitownracing, but majority of tgo was not represented

probably the last post I make on tgo for a gathering, just isn't any interest anymore, I'll just call my friends and make a date instead.

sorry, was just trying to spice it up and maybe get a little racing in before we all ate and drank.

steve, mishawaka is a far off land in indiana that is close to south bend. I will be staying in a hotel or at a friends out there. long drive back that hammered. but if there's some racing to be had it'll be worth it.

Oh please, do explain. This should be good. I also encourage you to read the rules and guidelines you agreed to when you signed up. That should be self explanatory enough to what is allowed and not allowed. These regional boards allow for a TON of slack, but there is still a line. I am sorry you feel that way, i am sure you will be missed.

TGO has always wanted to focus on tech only. please enjoy the fact that this board even exists to talk about non-tech related stuff considering that we have been called out before for non tech related discussions on these boards. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you are welcome to digg back through the threads all the way to the first post on the NW/IN board.

Look, if you guys want to talk about sex there are forums out there for you. Nothing wrong with talking about having a few beers at a place with your friends on these boards. Talking about getting plastered and driving home drunk is wrong for the boards. The same goes for talking about who you'd do, pregnant or not.

Tim's only enforcing the rules in the FAQ, you can bring it up to an Admins attention if you want. But I'm pretty sure where that discussion will go.

In general threads about socializing are frowned in the "tech" boards, and according to the rules we aren't even supposed to really have non productive discussions even in these regional boards. But they don't enforce that, however talking about sex is stretching the line a little far for these boards.

We are here on these boards by choice, everyone is free to come and go as they please.

I know I don't post much here anymore, but thats because i've got other stuff going on in my life right now and reading the forums reminds me of how much I'd like to get my car going, as well as how much I have to take care of other responsibilities before i can spend $$$ on the car.

so regional boards are tech only, hmmm jeremy used it for posts about transformers, i'm sure you have as well. This board isn't what it was years ago, locally this board is dead. Gatherings are posted, then naysayyers knock the location but offer no alternatives or choose to make their own gathering. It's more like a group of old women who have witty comebacks with no talk of improvements or offer solutions. Which admins would I complain to? The new owners since it's sold? the old owners who got out for $$$? Must be me but all the old regulars don't post anymore and the new posters just post 11xxx things for sale and that's it. Maybe I'm just old school but if I say I'm going to do something I do it. I don't think about it then nitpick it and just not bother to show up. Last year at a gathering a large number of people left with the amount of money on the table $100 UNDER what was owed. I guess I outgrew all the bad apples and having to hit people up who I knew gave too much to pay the difference. Now it's winter and I guess I've outgrown it all. No one is building projects, no one offers to lend a hand, it's more of just 100 separate people who all barely put anytime into gatherings, helping others, etc etc All summer I posted car shows, not a single person off this board showed up other than the few I hang out with often that don't post regularly on tgo anyways.

It follows the same rules as talking about illegal, or pirated software on a public forum. Read the histories, there have been issues with non-tech discussions in the regional area. Non 3rdgen related stuff is also not allowed, even if you are just making a post about meeting at a movie theater to go watch a new release. You may have driven a thirdgen there but its still not 3rdgen related.

The regional boards have always allowed some space on the tech only rule. But again, per the rules, some things cant be said or discussed. I do agree with people nit picking the gathering posts, everyone is welcome to set something up where they chose.

I can't even begin to explain the amount of money jeremy, me, and a few others have lost doing the track rentals and such. I feel your pain on the money issue.

On the for sale post issue. I originally had thought that stopping all the for sale posts would help clean the board up and people would maybe start posting other things more. Maybe inadvertantly i ran people off, never my intention, but we have a for sale section and i thought our compromise was fair for everyone.

As far as the gatherings much of the stuff has been setup off the board for the locals in the B-dale/Schaumburg/Arlington Heights area. BWW, Hooters, movie nights, game nights. It wasn't posted because it wasn't 3rdgen related other than guys who met on these boards getting together.

Posting about getting together to watch Transformers is a little different than talking about getting plastered and staring lewdly at hooters girls..

There is a difference between conversations at hooters and conversations written on the boards. If you want to post about that on a forum I know that Chitownracing won't care a bit, so post it there.

Aside from the fact that it isn't your concern at all, then yes it was resolved, I just didn't feel the need to post about it. However if you are that concerned please do PM him. If you'd like I can provide his mailing address, I'm sure he'd love to hear your concern to for his situation.
