That's a beautiful (and true) story of the way it really is. I myself, being raised in such a way, have felt the same ignorance myself. I am always the one that my friends call when they need an ear to listen, a hand to hold theirs, our help with a chore. I do it proudly. But let me ask them for a little help and they're so sorry that they are "too busy." I guess I never realized it, until now, that AMERICA is the reason I am like that.
I work for a transit equipment retail company. We sell coach buses, school buses, limo buses, etc. Most of our detailers are Mexicans who barely speak (if any) English. We all gathered in the shop area (about 45 employees) for the "moment of silence" and of course there were quite a few tears shed from some of us. As I walked to the detail shop to clock out for lunch, I heard one of the Mexicans ask
"What was all that crying **** about?" Another replied "That's America man."
My response was "Your Damn right it is. Just remember why you came here, what you hope to gain, what Mexico couldn't give you, and what would happen if it was all taken away." My tears started really flowing then. "We are all here for that same thing, and some bastards are trying to kill us for it. Well we won't take it, and they will pay!!!"
I was so mad
!!!!!! But then I realized that some people just don't get it. They forget why this country was founded. And some obviously forget that we will FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!
"GØD BLESS THE USA"!!! "I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, WERE AT LEAST I KNOW I'M FREE"!!!!!! & "AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"!!!!!!
