How much does a restored GTA go for? Or if interested buy mine as is.
Thinking about selling my GTA to a friend who wants me to restore it with him this summer and sell it for a profit. It has 112,xxx miles and we'd do an engine rebuild, new paint, the works. About how much do you think it'd go for?
On a separate note, if you'd be interested I'm selling it for pretty cheap, $3,300 obo and here's my Craigslist add with pictures and details. https://bloomington.craigslist.org/c...430661617.html

Even with "free" labor, there's almost no way you'll turn a "profit" on a car doing any work like that on it

To do a factory fresh proper restoration is not a feasible way to make money on anything thirdgen. Maybe one day, but no where near now. Turbo Trans Ams and Firehawks will be the big ones, followed by the 350 optioned cars. Convertibles will slide in there to.
If you like it and want it, by all means restore it. IF you're looking to make money, it's not going to happen.

Totally agree. Only feasible if you are doing it for your own enjoyment. I could never get what I have in mine out of it and have lost $ on probably every Third Gen I ever sold. You have a cool car enjoy it or sell it like it is. Its worth your asking price come tax season someone will probably buy it if you still wana go that route.

Not unless you are going to strip the car to the bare unibody, put it on a rotisserie and go ***** deep (and empty your wallet too) on restoring it. Leave it as is and wait for the right seller. With 112k on the clock, the people willing to pay big money will be looking at something else.
A basic refresh of the engine will cost you around $2500-$3000 if you are going to go through and replace anything accessory wise that looks old + valve job + bottom end refresh. Then a decent paint job will cost you around $5000. So now you are $8000 into the car, how much are you going to sell it for?
If you are serous, you need to get a spreadsheet out and start tracking proposed costs vs how much the market will pay you for it (not how much you want, but how much people will pay)
But I can already tell you, its not going to be a green number, more like a Red number.
I don't even WANT to know how much money has gone into my GTA, it would be depressing and might make me suicidal.
