Camping Friday and Saturday Night
I've noticed alot of questions in a few of the posts about camping out. I camped at the place just down the road last year and it worked out pretty good. I plan on doing the same thing year, probably camping Friday and Sat night. I think if we got a large enough group that wanted to camp we could get several sites in the same area(its pretty much a field with rows of sites) and possibly get a group rate.
So if anyone is planning on camping either friday, sat or both nights, post or PM and let me know. I think as of now I am already getting 2 or 3 sites just for those of us coming from the milwaukee area.

Ill find the name and address of the place later tonight, I have it somewhere. If you Mapquest Denny's house, its about a mile away from there.
As far as the sites go, there small. I think your allowed 2 cars, 4 people, 2 tents or a camper. We had a big camper and 2 cars and ended up parking in an empty site across the road. Another thing to mention, they had some wierd rule about locking their gate at a certain time( I think it was 11 pm) last year it wasnt a problem, but IM thinking that if we are partyin on friday night we are going to be out later than that so I will find out about it.
I think we would be best off to get a bunch of sites all in one area, then we would have less issues with parking, other people getting by the cars.... And we could just share a few fire pits instead of spacing out and using alot of them.
I will try and get some more info up later tonight or tomorrow sometime.

I tried to call yesterday and after 2 times I remembered last year when it took me a few days to get ahold of someone. I guess they don't answer the phone alot ??? Last year we stayed up on sat night and had a fire till about midnight or 1ish and nobody ever said anything so as far as the lights out thing, I dont think it will be a problem. And Im sure if there are enough of us, and possibly a small bribe the gate will stay open later.

The camp ground we used last year was Emerald Trails Campground in Crete, IL. If you put that in Yahoo it will come up with an address and all that. Denny's place is like 2 miles away, if that.
Ive been trying to get ahold of this place for a few weeks now. I dont know if they arent open yet for the year, or if they just dont answer the phone or what, but I havent had anyone answer yet ??? I PMed Denny to see if he could drive over there and see about reserving like 10 sites for us. I haven't heard anything back yet, but Im sure thats because Denny has alot of other things to deal with getting ready for the party. If worst comes to worst Ill just drive down there over one of the next few weekends and see what I can do.
As far as pricing I dont remember exacly but I think our site which had elec and water hookups was like $30 a night and we had to pay more for extra vehicles and people.
I will continue to try and get this taken care of in the next few days.

If you would like to yeah thats cool. We bring our camper down its old and its not the nicest thing in the world but its better than sleeping on the ground. As of now I haven't had anyone say for sure that they are planning on camping with us, so right now I am only getting 2 sites. If its just you Im sure we could find room for you to throw a tent on one of our sites or something.

Ok guy I finaly got ahold of the people at the campground.
The lady there agreed to set asside a group of sites for us so anyone thats coming to the show can be in the same area. Also she agree to either leave the gate open later or give me a key so that we can stay out later than 11:00
For a site with electric it is $28 per night which includes 2 adults, and it will be $5 extra for each additonal person. You are not allowed to bring firewood (not sure why sounds wierd) but they sell it for $4 a bundle. This shouldn't be a huge problem being that the party/bonfire is at Denny's place.
So if you would like to camp heres the info
Emerald Trails Campground
3043 East Goodenow Road
Crete, IL 60417
(708) 672-8700
When you reserve your site or when you get there tell them you are there with "the camaro car show" or something along those lines, the lady was having a hard time understanding what I was saying. Or just tell them you are in the same group as Kevin Standlee, maybe that will work???
It sounds like they have plenty of room but its probably still a good idea to call ahead. They don't charge anything or take credit cards for a reservation, they just put your name on a list.
Hopefully that covers it for all the camping stuff.
