im impressed

at the track today for the pontiac event there was a little late 80's early 90's sunbird. When we walked by it, it looked stock (rims didnt even match), then it ran a 14.9 (alt corrected-14sec approx) so we go back and check it out again, just a stock 2 liter turbocharged sunbird, no nos, maybe better turbo. Anyway i was very impressed with this often overlooked turbo car.

We have a local racer who runs a Chevette. It has a V6 crammed in and runs 14's.

There was a fella last week at our track, showed up with a super clean looking maybe 79-80 Bonneville (brown with tan targa top) When it was idleing it sounded stocker than stock, then he was cranking out consistent 11.8. One of the cleanest grandma looking street sleepers I've seen yet, for a brown bonneville.

It's not surprising to see a Sunbird Turbo 2 running 14 seconds. Just no one does it. They're very light and with more boost, they can put out lots more hp's. Traction might be an issue however.
