Question: Correction factors same for ALL???
According to NHRA or IHRA, should the altitude correction factors be applied to NOS, Turbo or Supercharged cars the same as N/A cars?
That is, if I run 12.5 ET at 3,100 feet and a supercharged or NOS car also runs a 12.5, do we both use the same altitude correction factors to see how we'd do (possibly) at sea level?
Thanks!
BTW, went bracket racing last Saturday at SIR TUCSON, went 3 rounds, made top 8 cars before I red lit!! Ran low 12s all night!!

Yes but the correction factors only really affect Stock and Super Stock. The correction factors don't take into effect the temperature, barometric pressure or humidity. Although you may be at 3100 feet, the density altitude can be much higher or lower.

Applying the 5800' correction factor to my Bandimere times, I came almost exactly on top of that when I ran at Topeka (slighty more, actually - best corrected would be 13.49). Fellow racer with a 440 Charger didn't run the corrected number there (but he didn't try extremely hard - he only ran a couple of full passes, then tried to stay over the 13.00 minimum dial-in). Most of the normally-aspired guys picked up very close to the correction factor.
The guy with the '67 Nova w/sprayed 350 that runs 11.7's here picked up .6 sec - he should have picked up .85 per the correction factor.
Didn't have any supercharged or turbocharged guys there (that I know of). In theory, they should pick up similar to the correction factor, unless they're running on a waste gate.
Another factor is setup - If you have your gears optimized for altitude, for instance, so that you're at redline at the stripe, going to a lower altitude would put you at redline before the stripe. One possible reason I picked up more than the correction factor is that I was closer to redline at the stripe in Topeka than I am here.
