Rough night at the Track
Rough night at the Track
well, it didn't start out to bad...I was thinking the posi was going out, and on my first burnout...my fears were confirmed, I was only spinning one tire most of the burnout. And 3rd gear syncro is biting it again only 2 mos after I had it fixed. I pulled up to the lights and staged...took it to about 2500 cause I thought that if was going to fry the tires, but the track was bad *** and I bogged the motor...ran a 12.1 @ 118 with a 2.05 60ft. Next run same story only the track had went away and I blew the tires...or tire...off and missed 3rd hard...it just was not their...the syncro was totally shot and I went 13.2 @ 112 with a 2.35 60 ft...very dissapointing to say the least. I decided to push my luck and see if it would go into 3rd. I pulled up to the line and didn't even get in the water this time, just did a short 1st gear (1 legged according to my buddies) burnout. I pulled my best 60 ft ever (1.97, horrible still I know) and the car was pulling harder than ever...till third became non existant again. I went 12.4 @ 115 on that run. I firmly believe that I was on my way to a 11.90 pass until then...the air was cooler and the car hooked much better than the 12.1 pass. I guess it is time to start saving my bills and get a real rear end and tranny...any Ideas?
