I got my Camaro RS about a month ago, i know how to drive stick, but i want to know the techniques of drag racing with it, i have a friend who has got some sweet rides but they are all 4 speed carb. hot rods, and he has little to no technique, he says his goes faster than anything he has raced, so i need some techniques on shifting, and where to shift and such, or maybe some mods i can do beside rear end and ultimate tbi(which i am working on)

full exhaust would be a great start!
i never drove a manual thirdgen so i would maybe guess let the clutch out slowly in first gear just enough so not to spin.
i would shift at no higher than 5 k rpm..

i usually shift around 5500, i dont know where your power starts dropping off in your car so dont refer to that but you can try powershifting, when you shift dont take your foot of the gas, be careful if you try this cuz if you miss a gear its gonna prob hurt you in some way or another...

I bang gears at 7400 but it inst a 3rdgen. The trick is to shift at the point where you have pulling power in the next gear, it's hard to say without driving your car of course if you want to drive it up here I'll take at look at it for ya.
Just find where you make power per gear and where you peak rpm. For example you make peak HP at 5k but the car revs to 6K in gear, so you should shift around 5500.
