i dont have any experience with manual thirdgen's.

but i will take a guess and lanuch at like 2,500 rpm maybe and shift at like 5,000 rpm.

you need to work with the 60 foot some, thats seems to be hurting you the most.

i think it would help also if you get better gears in the rear end, they seem a bit low, thats all top end speed..

i have 3.23 stock with my automatic and it could use at least 3.42's for more lower end grunt.

ok i have a lb9 g92 car and with my 3.42's the way i launch is as follows..

i do it one of 2 ways depending on track conditions

if the track is tacky, i hold the rpm's at 1,800-2,000..and i side step the clutch...one of 2 things will happen...if u drop it and floor it right away the tires are gonna spin...if u drop it and hold the throttle at 1/2-2/3's get to the tree then mat it...with my 3.42;s the tires dont spin very much and the r's jump right up to 5,200 and stay for about 2 seconds and then i leave it matted shift 2nd and third...

if the track i s greasy youll have to play with the clutch on launch

again hold the r's at 2 grand or so and when it goes green you wanna feather the clutch out about 75% and be at 60% throttle to the tree. then floor it and the clutch should be out already...now doing this method can wear out a clutch if not done properly...when u launch spin the wheels just a little bit to help the car get up and go

both of these methods have gotton me 1.98 and 1.92 60 ft.
my 91 gta lb9 mk6...with a fartmaster, k&n, and minor plenum porting ran a best of 14.1@95.5....a ringer or a good driver or both

this is with 3.42 gears, 2.77's are gonna be harder to get goin..this launch works for me...it may not for you

My launch was similar to f crazy.

91 Car G92 5 sp 3.42 stock tires. gatorbacks

I would rev the engine and hold it at 5,000 it did not require much pedal. Then side step the clutch at 5,000 dont apply any more pedal! The car would first jump and then start to bog as it hooked, then I would mat the gas. car ran consist 9.20s with a best of 9.17. 60 ft about 2.150 to 2.2.

I would shift at 4200 with my foot on the floor. reving higer did not help but slowed the car down.

F crazy Your times are impressive!

My shift points are to the best of my memory. The rpm may have been higher by the time it went into the next gear since I kept my foot on the floor.

Have not drag raced the car since 94. My car quits pulling at about 4500. It would rev higher but the accelaration was at a decreasing rate.

I am trying to road race the car now. It has 165,000 miles all orginal drive train. T 5 rebuilt AC never charged cold air.

One good car.
