What is 7.98 1/8mi in 1/4
What would a 7.98 in the 1/8 be in the 1/4 (approx), as I have yet to go to a 1/4 track, (I'm guessing) deep in the 12's. It's pullin 1.72 short times, I have been shifting at 6200 rpm. I can hardly wait to try the performer rpm nitrous. It still has stock front springs and kyb shocks for now also.

Pretty close to yours, 91 RS, 10:1 355, AFR 190 heads, Comp 286 solid cam, Scat crank, MSD 6al, MSD pro billet dist, Victor jr, 750 DP, TCI converter, th350, 4:10 Gear, Spohn lca's, relocating brackets, SSM subs, Performer RPM nitrous. Best et to date 7.98 1/8mi on motor, that was last Sunday in 96% humidity, much better tommorrow hopefully a new best will appear. Last yr I ran a 700r4 also, best 60' was 1.93, th350 and bigger converter works for me.
is the result given (12.44) as per the 1/8th track time
of 7.98 universal?
The closest number I could figure out (I had to write something
in C and calculate every .000001 digit in increasing
numbers to come up with this)
was (1/8th track time) * 1.558898 = (1/4th track time)
7.98 * 1.558898 = 12.440006
is it reverseable?
( 1/4th track time)
10.46 / 1.558898 = 6.709868 (1/8th track time)
I'm crazy, I know.. but I havn't found a forumla yet..

7.98/12.44=1.00/x
7.98x=12.44
x=1.558898
works the other way too:
12.44/7.98=1.00x
12.44x=7.98
x=0.641479
i dont know how accurate that is, just going by the info i was given. cant say i didnt never learned nuttin in skhol.

what math did you take to learn that stuff? I never had classes like that... at least not in my ******* country school....
anyways, does anyone know if this equation adds up? I was pondering its accuracy, it's used for finding horsepower in a 1/4 mile race:
(.00426 * MPH)^3 * Race Weight = Estimated horsepower
(where MPH is your miles per hour crossing the finish line)
I forget where I learned this, but was wondering if anyone else knew of it...

I don't think there is a 100% formula since there are too many variables going down the track. Take your 1/8 mile time and multiply it by 1.56 to get a close estimate of a 1/4 mile time. The only way you'll know exactly what your 1/4 mile time is will be to take it down a 1/4 mile track.
There are other calculation numbers. You run it flat out to at least the 1000 foot mark. You see your opponent is far behind and you don't want to break out. If you run flat out to at least the 1000 foot mark then hit the brakes to slow down for a win, you need to know roughly what your 1/4 mile time would have been for a dial-in next round. Take your 1000 foot time and multiply it by 1.19. Again the number isn't 100% exact. You can take your previous 1/4 mile time and divide it by the 1000 foot time for a conversion number 1.194 or maybe 1.198. Multiply that by your incomplete pass's 1000 foot time.

i think that it would be safe to say that it will run mid 12's. my dad is running 12.50's with 7.90 1/8 mile passes.
