How much will headers/exhaust improve my e/t?
I made several runs in my GTA tonight.
Pretty stock except for an edelbrock base/runners, bmr LCAs and panhard, eibach springs, kybs & cheap mods.
I ran a 15.0 2x and a 15.1 2x.
I have an american thunder complete exhaust and hooker headers waiting to be put on.
Anybody with a similar setup know how much of an improvement i can expect?
I was hoping to be high14's with what I have but i guess not. Maybe low 14's after the aforementioned stuff???
Thanks for any opinions.

That can be from o to .30 or .40 tenths. did you do anything to in fueling after you improved your exhaust???? Look at the total package.....You might be too lean now to get the gains headers normally give.

i haven't put the exhaust/headers on yet.
i added a fuel pressure regulator and bumped it to 50psi, also have new injectors (stock output)

i'd be really dissapointed if it only knocked off .2 of my e/t. i'll have spent all this $$ on mods and not even be mid 14's?? shouldn't my car be running much better than that? is there something that could be hindering my performance? it seems like it runs great.
I say just take it to the track and get some real results. You will see an improvement, although in your sig it says you ran a 15.0, so even 2 tenths would be 14's right? You also have to remember the GTA's are the heaviest third gens.

well, that's not quite the 14's i was hoping for. although heavy, it seems most guys on here with the later L98s are in the 14.8-9 range stock.
maybe i'm not racing my car as well as i should? i have no idea what else to improve. all 4 tries were fairly consistant.

60' = 2.3
15@90
60' = 2.29
15.1@93.8
the e/t in my sig was what i ran a month ago when i was essentially stock. i've since added the ported edelbrock intake and suspension mods, and i'm still running a 15 flat, hense my questions.

not sure how to get a better launch, or closer to a 2.0 60' without switching tires.
i feather the pedal down and then let it go, i get a little squealing as i press down and accerlerate, but not a lot.
i had only ran it 2x to get that 15@92.7 in the stock run. i had felt with a few more tries i coulda made a 14.9. and now a month later with some mods i can't go any faster than 15.0 after 4-5 runs.
one of my injectors was going south at the stock time too, now all have been replaced in addition to the intake/suspension stuff. i was however only running on 89 oct. this time, whereas b4 i had 91 + some nos octane boost.

What tire pressure are you running on your rears at the track? If its 35psi (hot tires), bump it down to 30psi for more grab out of the hole... feathering will make you more consistent but it does sacrifice 60'. If you can learn to launch consistently, and have nice low tire pressure, you can see a few tenths off your 60' which will snug you up in the mid 14's. You certainly have the suspension for it, now put it to use and launch that bitch!

how can i launch it better to drop that 60'?
the one time i didn't feather it i spun too much i think and landed a 15.5 or something lame.

Sounds like you are making good power just not utilizing it in the first 60 ft.You may have a lot of bottom end to tap(tires)to lower your 60ft times and would there for lower your e.t.s.If i remember correctly ......every 10th off your 60ft times is good for 3 to 4 tenths off your 1/4 mile times.Based on your 60ft times alone a 1.9x (utilizing the bottom end tpis is known for) just might get you the e.t.s you are looking for.Tires,gears or stall(2400) will get you there.BTW a buddy of mine runs the same mph and is hitting 13.7x.But he also has drag radials.

If it was your first time running that car your times could drop just buy getting some more runs in. The first time I ran my 90 GTA, 5.7, bone stock except K&N air filter and Dynomax muffler, I ran a 15.52 @ 88.32 mph
Then I started going to the track more and was running cosistent 14.5's @ 94mph. With a best time to date of 14.42 @ 94.67mph, 2.027 60', 9.221 1/8 @ 77.02mph with the only diffrence being a Hypertech chip, that I KNOW did not gain me a full second! BTW, shouldnt I have better et's with that mph? I guess it dont matter now, I have done a lot to the car in the last couple of months and have not run it yet, but I think it is about ready.
