Tune up before and after with track times...
before the tune up, it was tuned up 17k miles ago with bosch plat +4's new cap and rotor kept the stock wires cause they looked good still. the car was not missing at all at any rpm before or after even up till friday night at the track.
tune up added ac delco rapid fire plugs, cap, rotor, 8 mm wires and accel super coil picked up over 4 mph sunday in the afternoon at 85 degrees compared to friday nights runs at 75 degrees!
took her to the track friday and hit the best of the fri night test and tune of 14.42 with a 2.12 60' at 92 mph with over 210 water temp. temp was around 75 degrees friday night. i was barely spinning the tires at 42 psi.
i gave her the tune up sat afternoon.
sunday i hit a best of 14.57 in the heat at 225 water temp with a 2.07 60'. i picked up 4 mph in my last run of 14.62 @ 97 mph with a tire spinning thru 1st gear into second with a 2.29 60'. air temp was 85 degrees. psi was set at 28 and i still was spinning thru halfway if not all the way thru 1st gear!
i think if i can get her cooled down to 150 degrees and staged at 160 - 165 degrees with good cool air and low 1.9 to a low 2.0 60' she'll hit a 13.8 or 13.9 if i can run the mph it showed in sundays run. one of my runs sunday was 14.70 @ 85 mph dialed in on a 14.69. i think if i would of stayed in that run it would of been a 14.20 or so at around 98 mph.
she's all stock except maf descreened, k&n filter, cut air box, air foil, and no mufflers. stock rear Y and stock front Y pipes.
damn 2.59 gear is killing me
i did make it to the semi's and damn red lighted. 2nd year in a row at the corvette shoot out i made the semi's.
moral of the story, i thought the bosch plat +4's were a good plug and i think they are but after a few 1000 miles they just crud up. they were brownish black. i know the car runs rich and i got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator a friend at the track gave me. i think if i can tune the fuel pressure to be a bit more lean that as rich as it is she'll run better. also got a 160 thermastat i have to put in this week before fridays test and tune again
i actually can't wait for late oct early nov when day time temps are in the 60's and night time temps dip in the high 40's with low humidity we have in late fall here in MD
BTW it was nice meeting Tony (tpivette89) and his g/f sunday for the race and thanks for the AFPR

I use NGK -7 race plugs (cost about the same as regular plugs). Plug gap is around .045" and they're all indexed (ground electrode is away from the piston)
Your biggest improvement is just from using new components. It didn't really matter what brand or style they were.
2.59 gear? Never heard of that ratio before but you should get something more in the 3.xx range.

i would go with a 3.54 gear or 3.73's at highest but it's around a grand to get them installed on a vette!
that'll be my last mod when i swap in a dana 44 when i get in the 12's.

i used the single electrode Bosch platinums for about 2 months when i noticed the car didnt run as well as it used to. pulled the plugs and every single one of them was black! what i noticed was the center electrode on any Bosch platinum plug barely protrudes above the cermaic center section, while other plugs are usually a quarter inch in length. so after a few thousand miles, the center electrode wears away to practically nothing. swapped in a set of Delco rapidfires and all was well.
im now running a set of the regular copper Delco plugs, but the ground electrode is cut back to expose more of the center electrode. i gained 1mph and dropped my E/T a whole tenth with these plugs. not to bad for $10 a set
Mad-Mic, i believe with the AFPR and some tuning youll definately see some high 13s. while you have the plenum off, its probably a good idea to remove the EGR walls right behind the throttle bores. and while youre in there, itll be easier to install a 160* stat while the plenum is off. my brothers 91' had all the mods you currently have (with the exception of your mufflers eliminated) plus the ones i listed above, and with his 2.59 rear ran consistant 13.8s at 101mph. 60fts were in the low 2.0 range.
it was nice meeting you and your g/f as well! ive never seen a dragstrip full of nothing else but Vettes... it was very cool! i just wish the entry fee was a bit lower so i could have run too
