New Best Time...

Out at U.S. 41 Sat. we had a head wind of about 20mph, still ran a new best with the camaro. 60.ft - 1.69
1/8 et - 7.636
1/8 mph - 90.41
1000' et - 9.988
1/4 et - 11.978
1/4 mph - 113.02
Will probably be getting it touch with ski for some prom changes soon. I think this combo has 11.5-11.6 in it, hopefully!!!

Thanks guy. It's a 383, SR, 219, AFRs 190 (unported). I'm still using Edelbrocks TES headers. Not sure wether to use 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 headers. I see good points to each of them. We thought we had 12 psi in the tires sat. at the track, come to find out it was 17psi. Between that and a few other little things I think there's some more in it.

Cool, there's yet another good running car with the TES to throw in the header debates. Good times. Are you planning on trying a different set of headers soon, Kwik? It would be cool to see a comparo, since so many run your combo.

Thanks. Probably over the winter. Not sure how much of a change it'll make. Probably go with the 1 3/4.

For what its worth...never knew there was drag race talk in there like this...cool....anyways you might want to dig up where Corky and I tested my 1 3/4" headers to his 1 5/8" headers on his 406 this season. They were changed in the pits, lol, after a few baseline runs. With DAs taken into account. the gain was about .06-.07 sec. Much less than I thought it would be also. But results are results. That is on a 406 in the extreme low 11s.

I would say spend the 400 beans elsewhere.

Bzzz...Misinformation here. Ski, I'm almost certain the 1 5/8's in that test were not even close to the cramped y-pipe, restricted collectors, or the restricted "in general" characteristics found in the Edelbrock Tes system for third gens. They probably weren't even shorties were they? If they were even similar to the edelbrocks, Ski, I apologize. But if you tested 1 5/8 long tubes to 1 3/4 long tubes, then I my point may have some validity.

These were longtubes run wide open for the testing. Sorry. I didn't catch the TES the first time around. Anyways....its still some useful information to keep in your back pocket!

What's your thoughts on going from the TES to the longtubes on my setup?

I can't say I have enough information from the TES to make an educated suggestion. Sorry..maybe someone else has done a comparison.

Not the same header but a similar change I experienced. I swapped from SLP Tri-Y 1-5/8" headers to Hooker Long Tubes and picked up a solid 3 tenths and 2 mph. The torque on the low end was improved quite a bit. This is on a 355. Good luck!
