amazing third gens
amazing third gens
Hi everyone I was down at englishtown, NJ yesterday for the outlaw 10.5 quick 8 shootout. If you didn't see it you missed one bad azz evernt. There were an amazing amount of 3rd gen camaros pulling in some 7 to 8 second passes. The world record for the fastest outlaw car was also set. http://nescaracing.com/
I have attatched a pic of one of those bad third gens that was down there. One thing that I am trying to find out is can you fit a 30.0, 10.5 by 15 tire on a third gen without relocating the rear shocks??

Third gens don't need shocks relocated. You'll hit the springs long before you hit the shocks.
I run a 10 x 29 slick on my car. I could probably squeeze an 11" slick in there next time.
The bump stops needs to be cut off and the front lower part of the inner fender needs to be cut off. The passenger side where the spare tire is needs to be hammered back into the car.
I use a 15 x 10 rim with 5.5" backspace.
I see that car has a blower from the cutout in the hood. I like the parachute mount idea inder the bumper. I was thinking of just going through the bumper.

Here is a pic of my car with a 10.5 x 29.5 x 15. Which is actually 29.9 tall. Just a little hammering on the inner fender and a little cutting on the rear of the wheel well for tire growth.Tire

I ran a 10.5x28-15 slick last couple years and this year ran a 9x30 radial slick. Both had tons of room left, just need the correct offset wheel.
How about problems rubbing on the rear control arm. I have a bolt in nine inch from strange, I run a 8 wide rim with 4.5 backsapacing. I was wondering if I could fit a 28 12.5 et street on there or maybe even a 28 13.5 et street. But it looks like the tire might make contact with the control arm on the passanger side. Has anyone had this problem. I run a 28 11.5 et street now and theres lots of clearance but I want to go bigger like I said but I don't want to buy a set of tires and then find out they don't fit. But from what you guys are saying there should be lots of room! What do you guys think?
