1/8 mile

I ran the 1/8 a few weeks ago. The only change was a new 3.27 gear in the 9 bolt. I had 2.77s. My best time was a 8.828 @ 79 mph with a 2.0 60 ft. The problem was the weather, 49 degrees meant no traction. All I had was street tires. I'm hoping to do a little better this spring. Just wondering how I look with the amount of mods I have listed below.

Mph seems low. With a smaller cam and 9:1 compression my 350HO crate went 8.4 @ 85 in the 1/8th on street tires.

Do you suppose that is because of your converter? I know my mph is slow, I think that is because of running the factory prom and rockers. I don't believe my motor has very much top end, which is pretty typical of TPI. Making changes to the prom and valvetrain, will probably net more HP. Thanks.

I think the converter helped, but I wasnt taking full advantage of it at the track being on radials.

Our 305 is running a best of 8.11 @ 85+ in 1/8th mile. We are using a big cam, 750 vac. secondary holley, 3200 stall converter, th-350 and 4.10 gears. Also producing 1.84 60' times with 28 X 10.5 X 15 slicks. Adding a dual plane a slightly milder cam to improve torque. This should drop 60' time a little.

Your MPH does seem low, we have never run slower than 81+ when running 8.80's.
