Estimate my 1/4 mile time

Im dying to know what my car might run since I finished my engine but cant take it to the track since its winter. Im guessing low-flat 14's?

88 Camaro, Lo5 roller block 355ci. 89 L98 heads, ported and polished, Speed Pro pistons, Professional Products intake (same as Edelbrock performer) FlowTech headers, dual flowmasters no cat, and of course a k&N, regular tires, 3:42 standard rear-end. I think the compressions like 10.2 or sumthin.
280HP 380 Ft LB Torque??

T5 from my V6. I know it aint gonna last long, but my friend said since its gears are lower my car is gonna really take off in 1st and 2nd gear. True?

I know it will be fast enough to beat all the ricers in my town(cept one MX6 with a supercharged JZ engine )

Is that a true dyno # or a guess?
What kind of cam are you running?

From the sound of it your car may run low 14's, maybe better depending on your cam.

Its a guess. The cam is stock, but its from a 9C1 police package so I thinks its better than the regular stock cams. Havent researched it yet.

Your friend is right. If you get traction you are gonna have a really good 60 ft time with that set up. But I would bet with that cam you will probably trap at around 95 mph. But that should be good for low to mid 14s optimistically.

Actually dude , I think the stock 9c1 cop car cam was weak, I dont know the exact numbers but the cop car LO5 had like 15 less hp than the truck Lo5 and the truck Lo5's cam was pretty small. Get some 1.6 roller rockers that should give you a little extra lift on that cam, then you should be able to knock down high 13's with good traction. My LO5 ran mid 14's with a much weaker combo than yours, but I am still not sure if everything is stock internally I took it out of a recked low rider.

The truck Lo5 was rated at 205HP, Carpice Lo5 210HP. The low numbers are due to intake and head design. I've seen them myself, very restrictive. As for the cam, when we took it out my friend was lookin at it and sayin it was different than other ones he has seen. Possibly in a good way.

the numbers I saw were 210 for the truck and 180 for the caprice, but I may be wrong I saw them on a chevy truck web site. Also if the cam was different you might want to find out exactly what cam you have you dont want a cam that you dont know the specs on. You want to build around your cams specs. Good luck.

The Lo3's in the Caprices had 180-190HP. Thats prolly what was on the site.

Im gonna rebuild the engine to 400+HP next winter, so I plan on keeping the stock cam for now, that way I dont need to buy another one again in a year.

How much of a horsepower difference would it make if I put in a better cam now?

Whats the stats on the heads?
Check the lifts if cam is already in...and tell us what they are.

You might go 10' if you drop the clutch. Easing out you might go 15s. If the cam is in anyway similar to my L98 cam, and you have a better transmission than the one you have, and the heads are done well... Then 13s shouldn't be a problem.
