How do you haul your F-body??
I need a way to haul my Camaro so I won't be afraid to flog it at the track.
Can you guys give me some ideas? I don't currently have any vehicles w/enough hp to pull it so I'd be looking at getting a truck. Possibly a flatbed, so you don't have a trailer to store in addition to the truck.
What do you guys use for hauling??
If ONLY i could afford a Hummer...

91 454SS towing a 16' open car trailer. I'd love a 22' or 24' enclosed trailer but that would mean having to buy a new bigger truck to haul it.
I can't get any kind of bigger trailer since it would never fit into my back yard without tearing my fences out. A 32' enclosed would be real nice.
The nice thing is I only live about 5-10 minutes from the track. It takes me longer to load and unload the car than to drive to the track

LMFAO!!!
Actually the ole Fa-jord scared the chit outta him!!
We took that pic before we headed to Nationals last year, I think that was the guy taking a picture of his goat, but cant remember.
Here's a view from the other side. Definately a diverse group, but you see which one looks the best
We had 8 other cars from our track in primer besides these 2 so the announcer was calling our track "Team Primer" Oh, the house is actually the guy's with the Malibu. I just bought a different house to get "outta the hood" and this one has no out buildings at all, so that's on the agenda for this year, or wait, is it the car's drivetrain?!! Or maybe both if business is good again.

I should have taken a picture in 2002 on the road trip back from Yakima. There were 3 of us traveling together all with Camaro's on open car trailers. First was a 69 first gen, second was a 72 second gen then I pulled up the rear with an 87 third gen. I thought it looked pretty good going down the highway.

That would've made for a neat "through the generations" type picture. Even if folks dont catch onto that, they still ooo and ahhh anytime they see cars like ours on the hwy, or maybe that's just me

It is modified!! Last year when I rented it for a big race we pitted with some guys from Chicago that souped it up for us, -put a zip tie around the govner spring, what a difference! Guys back at the rental shop took 'er for a ride, asked what I did to it then went off doing hot laps around the building!! It's still that way a year later!
It's a rental, and let me tell ya, everything you've ever heard about rental units is true. I had to fix the roll bar/canopy before I could take it back. Figured out if you have a drunk driver and co-pilot up front, and 3 more drunks on the rear deck for ballast you can ride wheelies as loong as you want. In the feild, down pit roads, where ever you want. It handled the 2 foot mini dike jump pretty well to, could actually almost flip it over backwards when the drunks mentioned above would be brave enough to hold on out back going full tilt over the jump. Does'nt go real well through the woods though. You can keep the cart in the wheel stand position and spin the tires with the oil light blinking all the while the drunken driver is trying not to spill his beer while facing the sky and asking what that light means
and not blow it up!! We definatley got our use out of it thinking of more ways to beat on it with the endless hours between rounds-the drunken part was after the racing of course!! I didn't have my digital camera at the time, but we have great disposable camera pics of all the action, I just need to kepp over to my buddies and get 'em so I can scan them into the computer. That little things got my vote for toughness!!
Oh, and of course I had to put the Jegs summit stickers on for contingency money!!

Last few years I towed with a Jeep Grand Wagoneer, piggish on gas but would pull about anything. This winter I picked up a Grand Cherokee (I work at a Jeep dealer, go figure) to tow with. Of course, I use an open trailer for the car. Low buck set up but that just leaves more for the racing budget.

Hey, just wondering, what is the total weight that your car and trailer weighs?
I'm looking at some rigs, and want to limit engine size, tow capacity, gas mileage.

that trailer was custom built by Cowtown Custom Trailers *which is no longer in business* MRSP was ~ $20,000. we got it for ~$14,000. but that is a 34' long trailer with a totally furbished interior. you can get a good 28 footer for alot less. like under 6k if you look hard enough.

Nice thing about enclosed trailers is that unless you totally trash it, you should be able to get your money's worth out of it when you every decide to sell it. Used trailers in good condition are about the same price as a new trailer. That is the trade name trailers. Home made ones are not really worth that much unless someone has done a really good job on it but that's not very often. If they did then they'll want way more than what most people are willing to pay.

Damn you guys and your 15 min or less drives to the track
Takes me 2 hours. Probably end up trailering my car next time out, drove it the first time but with the 305.
