How much HP gain from stock to these mods?
Theres my car in the sig. 1987 GTA Trans AM with the 5.7L 350 engine. Now i checked around and it looks like 210-225HP stock at the flywheel is what it puts out stock. Though im assuming 225 was for the Camaro due to better intake setup. Well heres the mods that are done, and will be done by the end of this month:
SLP Cold Air Induction
SLP Air Foil
Jet 180* Thermostat
MAF Sensor modified (Screenless)
MAC 1 5/8" ACS Coated Headers with 2 1/2" Y-pipe with 3" Collector
MAC 3" HTS Coated Cat-Back System with dual 3.5" tips
Dynomax 3" Super-Converter
Flowtech 3" Exhaust Cut-Out (Will have placed after headers, before cat for best performance)
McCord Power Plate II
Hypertech Fan Switch (200 ON, 185 OFF)
Spohn Sub-Frame Connectors
Complete tune-up
Im really pushing to get my ECM tuned as well, hopefully my friend can help me out.
Im estimating at 260-280HP at the flywheel, sound about right?
Going strictly by there "advertised" up to HP gains, its about 280HP if added all together from a starting point of 210, but im not gullable, not that i dont believe it, its just i dont expect it.
What you guys think? The car runs really good btw, low mileage, no salt, rain, or snow ever touched it.

I would guess you gained about 35-40hp from those mods.
Probably lookin at 20hp from the headers and y pipe
5hp cat-back
10hp air intake and foil
maybe a few ponies for the other stuff

I thought a full cat-back would be worth more than 5HP. Well either way, one could only guess. I might just dyno it when i take it in next week or so, and see what i gain.

I just ordered a TPIS adjustable fuel pressure regulator from Jegs, mainly because i didnt want to do any "grinding" to make the Holley one fit. I dont mind using tools, and its not like i adjust it everytime i drive it, you know what i mean
Also a Hypertech fuel pressure gauge i got, so add those to the list now.

i think you get a good 30-35 extra HP to the rear wheels with the mods you listed

By rear wheels are you saying id have to add about 20% HP to the flywheel? So 30-35HP to the wheels and about 36-42HP to the engine.
In the end, from stock 210HP at the engine to about 246-252HP
And lets say real wheels minus 20%, which is about 168HP, would then be about 198-203HP.
Sound about right? Of course im just guessing, but ballpark figure.

I've got a similar setup to yours except I have Hooker headers/Flowmaster exhaust, Edelbrock runners/manifold (ported).
Not that guessing hp means anything, but my guess is I have around 270hp by engine (started at 225), so about 225 at the rear wheels.
If you dyno yours post the results as I'd like to see as well.

Ya ill have to do dyno. I wish i knew how to tune my car as im doing some dyno runs, its so complicated. (Ive read through hours of ECM and PROM boards).
The perfect thing would of been to do a dyno before and after, but i guess ill stick to 210HP for my base starting point at the flywheel and work from there. At least i got my stock track time.
Im hoping all my parts are delivered by this week, if they are, should be good to go by this weekend or right after.

I'm running a '89 Formula with a L98.
Here are my dyno results and mods if they help. Pretty similar minus headers.
K&N in stock air box with descreened MAF.
Flowmaster Catback.
MSD Wires and Coil.
Custom PCM Tuning.
342 gears.
700R4 with Transgo Kit.
.030 overbore
Layed it down with 214hp to the wheels at 4600rpm on a Mustang dyno. Just for fun I just bought a TPIS airfoil going to redyno and see if it actually provides the 10-15hp claimed jump. lmao. best ET is a 14.5 @ 100flat. I think my car may just be a freak
