slick size

Will 29x10x15 slicks fit on my 1990 GTA ? I just got a used pair for free, my friend bought some new ones. I put them up next to my tires on the car and they are barely an inch taller than my 255x16 Firestones and not a lot wider. Anyone run this size with stock suspension ?

Not without some sheetmetal work. That's the size I use. I have my bump stops cut off. The passenger side spare tire indent has been hammered in. The front lower inside corners on both sides of the inner fenders has been cut off below the floor line. That's all when using a 10" rim with 5.5" backspace.

30 x 9 x 15 radial slicks fit fine with correct offset rims. Those should fit as well.

I'm running a set of Weld Pro Stars 15 x 10 with 5.5 backspacing. Plenty of clearance all around both tire and wheel.

Do you have any pics of the car? I would like to see how they look.

I ran a 28x10x15 at the track with stock wheel wells without incident.

Thanks for the pics, those are some awesome launches! My slicks are also Hoosiers. What psi do you run?

When the air and track are good I go as high as 24 psi. Radial slicks use higher pressures generally than bias. Once you get used to running them, radials are great but you do need to swap them side to side very regularly to keep the sidewalls alive.

I know of a lot of "stockers" who now only use radial slicks. I wish they made them in more sizes other than 30x9.
