First time runnin the drag strip!
Yesterday I went to the St Thomas dragway in Sparta Ontario for the first time.
My car is an 88 Trans Am 5.7L L98. Its 99% stock. The only things that have been changed are a throttle body airofil and a K&N air filter.
My reaction time is so very bad but I figure it should be respectable for a first time at the track. Average reaction time was 1.375s
My best time out of my 9 runs is as follows.
Reaction: 1.396s
60ft: 2.220s
330ft: 6.318s
1/8 ET: 9.720s
1/8 MPH: 72.10
1/4 ET: 15.083
1/4 MPH: 94.46
How do you think I did for a first time at the drag strip?
Also what was the stock times for the 88 Trans Am L98??
I'll definately be going back to the track next weekend just to run down the line.

Improve your reaction times by launching when you see the last yellow light come on. By the time you and the car react, the light will be green and you'll get a much better reaction time.
Seeing a 1.xxx reaction time tells me you waited until the light was green before launching.
A quicker reaction time will have no effect on your ET but during a bracket race you will win or lose depending on RT. 2 cars dialed in at the same ET. If they both run right on their dial, the car with the quicker reaction time will win.
