Intake and Carb for Faster Time?

I was thinking about switching to a Holly carb and a single plane intake. I am launching at about 1700 rpm and the cam likes 2000-6000 (pulls to 8000 right now but slower times).

I am thinking about a 600 cfm vac. sec. carb and something like a torker II intake or something like that.

What kinda times could I see if I do these swaps?

You might want to stick with a large dual plane. If you did go with a single plane, the Torker II would be about the worst choice you could make.

Either the performer rpm or vic jr, that 600 carb will not get you where you want to be, stick a 750DP if your really want to go fast.

Is it a street strip/weekend toy or daily driver? If your going for fast ET/mph definately go with the vic jr and 750DP, otherwise keep the dual plane and an edelbrock for better mpg if daily driven.

You've got the gears and the stall, get the right intake/carb and you'll be fly'n. And dont pull to 8K anymore, there's nothing useful up there except tearing up your motor, assuming your cam actual duration in the low 230's so you should be all done by 6K easily, shifting lower will probably net you some better times since you'll be staying under the curve and working that motor.

This is 100% race. I know 8k was to much. I shift at 6k now. 6k nets me my best times as of now.
