What do you think I should run?
Alright, I went with my friends out to the drag strip for the first time tonight and thought I'd bring my 86 firebird to see what I could do. To my surprise it ran a lot slower than what I had thought. My times when it was 90 degrees out were 17.7's at 75 MPH and when it was 79 degrees my times were 17.5's at 77 MPH. I thought that my car would run in the 16's easy. It was fairly humid out but I can't remember the exact measurement. Oh yeah, my elevation is 1300 ft. Could something be wrong with my car or is it just really that slow?
Oh yeah, so you know, I have a 1986 firebird 305 V8 5.0L with 4-spd automatic transmission and yes I do have a carburetor. Everything is completely stock and I don't believe anything has been changed at all. No idea if this is enough information, but I thought I'd try.
I thought I did well with my best reaction time being a 0.074 for my first time out racing.
