A new pic finally

I was able to pick up a new picture from the track photographer today. This is a pic of a pic so the quality isn't as good. I had to take a bunch of pics of it until I got one that didn't have a shine or flare. Both wheels are off the ground but the car is pulling hard to the right.

I was dialed in at 9.99 and won the round when my opponent fouled but that's also the run when my engine tightened up and I couldn't make the call to the next round.

I raced the truck this weekend. I lost in the second round on Saturday night. Sunday morning I got a perfect light in time trials then red lit in second round with a -.027 light.

Nice work on the perfect light. Have you gotten one before in the race car?

I've never had a perfect light with the car but using a delay box I've had many that were very close. I have had 3 or 4 now with the truck.

Looks good Stephen. It seems like your chassis is set-up well (front tires evenly lifted off the ground. Might need to put a little more pre-load in the right rear spring to get'r to go straight though.

A 9 second (at altitude) pass is coming your way soon.

Nice picture Stephen. Can't wait to see what your car does when it hits the track with the new motor.

From what I understand, I need to lengthen the adjuster on the RH ladder bar (on the bottom bar). That will force the front of the bar upward to put a preload on it. It probably won't take much but without track time, I won't know if it does any good or not.

SHould have seen the small block ford mustang at the track. He has a 101mm turbo and ran 8.5 at 160 mph. The thing is street legal and doesn't even look like a race car. Amazing what 30 pounds of boost can do.

As a fellow ladder bar user with the same lower link adjustments, I can concur that you are correct. I would go about "3 flats" (or 1/2 a turn) to start with. Since your ladder bars are spaced wider apart than mine, your's will be less sensitive to this adjustment than my narrowed rear car.

Sounds like a good place to start. Hopefully I'll be able to try the adjustment on the Aug 13/14 race. Race is 4 weeks away and the new block "should" be 3 weeks away. It's either going to be very close or I'll have lots of time to get ready for the Sept 10/11 final race of the season. It would be nice to set a new personal record on the last race but then have to wait 8 months to see if you can do it again.

Counting this coming up weekend, I ony have 3 more weekends of local racing.

I was taking at look at that pic. Rear chassis looks good since I have very little squat. The tires aren't being driven up into the fenders. I wonder if I should put limiters on the front though. That's a lot of seperation between the tire and fender.

I wouldn't concern yourself with tying the front end down. Allowing the front suspension to fully extend really helps to transfer weight to the rear tires for traction, which is especially important on small tire cars that are nose heavy (watch your average stock class racer launch). Usually only cars that have wheelie bars also tie their front ends down, and use both as tuning aids to control weight transfer. In your case, you need as much weight transfer as you can get.
