Shaved door handles
I was thinking about shaving my door handles until I heard recently that you could race at a drag strip if you have shaved door handles. Is this true?

Correct
Although it's not a written rule, most tech inspectors will fail a car for not having some sort of door handle. Even the fiberglass door cars that don't have an exterior handle will have a small reachable handle through a hole cut in the side window Lexan.
It's a safety issue. If the safety crew ever has to get you out of the car, they want to be able to easily and quickly open the door. If your doors are opened from an electric latch or a remote and the power is shut off, there's no way to open the door.

What he said.
Does anyone else think it's stupid that the C6 Corvettes dont have interior door handles? So if your engine blows up and you lost power, you cant exit the car as fast, and you instead have to find that little thing to pull at the bottom of the door?

Ok thanks alot...I guess it would be a waste of money if I shaved the door handles off and I wasnt able to race, then I owuld be screwed.
Yeah, thats sounds pretty dumb.
