ok my build is almost complete. i have an 86 T/A with a 383 stroker..setup is as follows:
complete machine work done, bored- line honed-decked
scat crank
keith black pistons( single relief)
balanced 5.7 rods
dbl roller timing chain
AFR 227 race heads spring set upto 670 lift
comp cam # cca-12-822-14 264/258@.050 int.630/ext.630
jesel shaft roller rockers 1.5
torkerII intake
holley 750 dbl pumper
holley blue fuel pump
exhaust may be 4" dumped before the rear axle( is 4"too much?)
4:11 rear gears
hoosiers rear 29.5x11x15 fronts skinnies 28x4.5 ? (have to look again)
cragar aluminum rims
8pt. roll cage ( still needs installed but have it)
interior has been sripped out of car for wieght reduction
everything in the engine is new or machined like new..every dam bolt whew!! ok i think thats everything..hopefully someone can give me an estimate on hp and times.. i plan on running this at the track only except the drive to the track 10 mile or so
im getting excited with spring right around the corner thanks in advance mike

after you throw the intake in the trash and get a vic jr intake and a big 4000-4500 stall i'd say low 11s, high 10s. also get a bigger carb too it'll probably go faster with that as well.

i kept the intake because i was worried about hood clearence...i have a stock hood and had the car just painted didnt want to cut through the hood..but i will if i have to..i do care more about speed than looks but dont want to look trashy either...i can trade for anouther holley but this one is brand new...dam i wish i would have gone bigger....and i still have to "massage: the rear innner fenderwells the tires are rubbing ..any idea of horsepower? ill dyno in the spring and be at the track in around 40 days to update us on the progress thanks guys

What compression ratio are you planning on? With that cam I'm guessing you will want around 11:1 compresson more depending on if you want to use pump gas or race gas. I also would suggest a single plane intake..Victor Jr or similar. And for exhaust I would go with dual 3in. With a decent suspension setup and converter(3500-4000)you should be in the low 11's or high 10's.

I think everyone mentioned it....the torker intake and 750cfm carb would be the "gap" in that motors performance, otherwise its a bad a$$ combo though.
P.S- you won't be dissappointed in those AFR 227 heads because i got the 220 and they flow like a fire hose!

i hope those heads are what i was hoping for ..i did alot of research on heads to make sure i went 1. big enough(flow) 2. for best quality 3.price wasnt really a factor here, you have to pay for speed right! does anyone know if the vic jr. will fit under the stock hood? i hope she screams this season...and i will be moving to las vegas this year i wonder how she'll react to the heat compared to buffalo ny......oh yeah it was figured out to be at 11 to 1 compression..im not running the bottle this year im gonna see how fast i can go N/A ...i like the challenge!

if its the TA hood with the bulge, it may fit...you may have to get creative with the filter assembly as in smaller dia. filter and/or a drop base.

I run a team G under my stock hood with a dropbase aircleaner. You can get solid motor mounts that will lower your motor to give you a bit more clearance. You can also shim up the rear of your hood. You should have at least a 1" gap between the top of your aircleaner and the hood.I'm with everyone else. Ditch the Torker for a Victor jr and get an HP 950 Holley.

a victor jr. is your friend with that cam and those 227 heads...any thing less is gonna "choke" the motor at high RPMS.

you might get lucky with the right drop base air cleaner and not need a cowl. i had a vic jr under a camaro with a L88 style drop base cleaner with the front of the airlid just slightly dented in and the hood shut.
