has anyone installed a zz502 in a thirdgen and found what quartermile time it can run with 500 hp?

second I have a 1976 camaro I was going to use for and engine swap for a third gen and the factory says it only has 165 hp for a 350 sbc is this true? and what time does a stock thirdgen with equizalent 350 sbc run in a q. mile?

 

All depends. Do you know the weight of the car? With that, you should get a rough idea, with good traction, and all. My guess, with a full weight street car, mid to high 11s, with traction.

Most likely it is true on the 1976 Camaro HP. I once had a 74 Nova that origionally had a 145 HP 350 two barrel. That HP figure changed immmediatley after I bought the car! If you know what I mean.

 

I am saving for this swap myself.I have a friend that had a 502 w/400 trans 3500 stall in his nova (app. 3400lbs.).it ran 11.80s stock.he put on a mechanical secondary carb ,and bigger cam and ran 11.30s.my iroc is around the same weight so I look for similar results.
