Left foot on the brake really hard, stall it up to about 1600 rpm, or whatever your converter flashes to ect.

also, if on street tires, dont liquify the tires, a small spin and chrip will get them hot.

Don't roll through the water box

most guys like to let the tranny shift itself, but i like to shift it on my own.

If you just want to let the trans shift itself, drive on the street and adjust the kickdown cable to where it shifts at your peak rpm.

Good Luck

Gas pedal is not an on/off switch, roll into it quickly.

what is the setup? are we running slicks? street tires? drag radials? etc.? is the car stock or modded? are we running street tires up front or some sort of skinny?

Watch how the other people stage. Basically you want to roll up very slowly until you light the first bulb, then roll VERY slowly till you light the second, then nail the brakes and you're staged. It sounds easy but sometimes it's tricky. If you **** up, watch the guys in the middle next to the tree - they'll help guide you.

And this isn't so important on your first time, but just a little hint. To get a good reaction time, you'll need to leave on the third yellow, don't wait to see the green. But remember, reaction time does NOT count in your ET.

yeah, don't worry about it. pulling up to the 2nd buld can be a pain, if you go too far, thats what reverse is for.

Just work on the launch, with more practice comes faster reaction times.
