How bad or good ???

Will the ford 9" kill any of my time? I killed the 10 blot posi and replaced it with a 9" ford. Looks like a lot more weight with the 9"???

Probably and mostly from the added weight. The amount of HP lost through a diff would only be seen on a chassis dyno.

Don't forget that a 9" 28 spline axle is huge compared to a 10 bolt 28 spline axle and most people will go with a minimum of 31 spline. That's a lot more weight just with the axles. Your 83 would have had even smaller 26 spline axles.

I hope the gear change will off set the weight? Went from 308`s to 411`s and I did go with 31 spline
