Runner'ed up at the GAFBA Fall shootout!

we had it setup for index classes this year, 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, and 14 and slower bracket. was a lot of fun and i trashed some 4th gens. went three rounds and runner'ed up. i was pretty stoaked considering i wasn't even planning on running the car. i was busy helping ssean92 and my other buddy Kody with their cars and i wasn't even going to race. but after 2 hours of TNT, i just couldn't resist any longer and i slapped the drag radials on my car and had at it! i didn't even take the front sway bar off or anything, the car was totally unprepped for drag racing. now the 305 is currently running a comp 280H cam cause i hurt the solid lifter cam, and i really had no idea what it would run, but ended up running a 12.97@103.8mph with a 1.76 60'. after much debate in my head i'm gonna stick with this combo and just add more gear and a new billet throttle blade plate to help with tunability. i had every intention on putting my solid cam back in once crane sent me a new one and i was doing up a set of 416's, but the combo works...and is DEADLY consistant...so i'm just gonna make it more effecient! i'll be putting power steering back on the car soon so the new goal is for 12's with power steering with a daily driven 305.

so anyhow, i brought home two trophies, one for runner-up in the 13.0 index and one for best reaction time of the event...got an .000 in testing.

cool man, although i suspect the power steering will add .2 off your times immediately.

just means i gotta make up for it elsewhere, lol! oh, and these times were with my front sway bar on and end links still attached. new race weight of 3265 which is very heavy for me...no idea where the car gained 70lbs, cause i personally have lost about 10-15lbs since my last weigh in. it was just so awesome to get back in the drivers seat!

Shameless plug here, but I am proud to have provided a used cam I pulled out of a 406 with a blown head gasket that came out of boat three years ago, I knew it had a better purpose than wall art in the garage!

well, i've built one hell of a bracket car, and with lights in the consistant .02x range, i'll do decently well, but i'd rather go heads-up racing! anyhow, thanks for the words of encouragement guys!
