high 12's mabey????
Well this season my best was a 13.09 @106 w/2.0 60'. I have an 84 z28 with a 355, 9.8c.r., Pro topline vortec heads, comp roller cam (.501-.510) rpm airgap manifold, 750 speed demond. It has a monster motersports 700r4 with a TCI breakaway converter (2200 stall) 4.10's 26' M/T's. I keep haveing an issue with my launch, I can only get it to foot brake to ~1300rpm when I leave it pulls real hard until about 1900 then it feals like it falls on its face until about 2500rpm (hence the crappy 60') I played with the carb ALL season, secondary springs, jets, extensions, squirters, power valve, ext.. I called summit and they told me that the converter is to tight for a drag car..... well thanks that could have helped 4 months ago!! I then called TCI and they confermed, and said to go with a looser stall. After talking to a few local gear heads, a 700r4 is an awful lot of weight to get spinning, and I would be better off (sence it is drag only) to pull the 700 out of it and go with a built th350 with a 3500 stall. So hopefully next year it will go 12.7x's- 12.8x's. What do you guys think?

the mph is there for 12.5x's and 12.6x's if you can get it to launch right. i've been 12.3 @ 108mph.

i'd go 3600 stall and TH350, or just toss a bigger stall into that 700R4 until it burns up like they all when they're stock.
