What should i run?
I was just wanted to know what i will run. I have just bought the car and i have all of those parts on my car. So what will i run?
408 csb
9.7 compression
ported "997" cast heads
1.5.1 roller rockers
cam
286/286 duration
.490/.490 lift
weiland dual plane intake manifold
hooker super comp 1 3/4 long tube headers

13s maybe high 12s if you hook really well. Those heads are smogger garbage, and the cam is old technology as well.

what type of car are the 997 cast heads from then? Also while i am at it what do you think is the max rpm i should be shiftin at for this engine?

If I got some afr heads and a better cam were do you think i could be sittin in the low 11s?

Running low 11s? I am not sure about that.A roller cam,AFRs and a properly setup car could run 11s easy in a 408 but I know a guy who ran vortec heads, comp xe 274 and 1 5/8 true duals in a monte ss and ran a 12.6 with a 2.1 60ft if I remember correctly and his car is a daily driver.Either way mild cam and good heads will make that car run at least low 12s if it is setup right.
