So i ran my second autocross, this last weekend. The Bird ran really well and i beat both 5.0 stangs that were running by over a second. My bird is a stock Base model 1991 Lo3 5speed. I plan to run in the F stock class, i know there are a lot of parts that i can put on my car that can help handling, and are still technically "stock" what parts should i look for From other 3rd gen models that will help handling, and or power?

 

awesome man...i run f stock too. beating mustangs are always fun. the only thing i can say for this class is to get a good set of tires if you don't already have them.

 

I would throw in a set of Koni Sports from Stranoparts.com and a set of Kumho 710s from tirerack.

That will put the blue oval boys minutes behind you... and that's a good feeling.

The best Oval is the blue Oval in your rear mirror!

Cool i'll look into those, So are the front/rear swaybars and springs the same for all models? did Irocs and Formulas get bigger swaybars, lower springs? What were the parts that came on the 1Le cars. are any of those parts available on less rare 3rdgens?

 

In short yes. The sways varied in sizes and the springs in height and stiffness.

 

and not in short? which years/models had bigger bars/ lower spring rates stuff like that.
