looking for pictures, part numbers, etc...everything to do with your race inspired alternator set-up. pictures would be most helpful so i can see how you packaged it.

I dont want factory style mounts, I will be using the moroso single groove pulley that bolts directly to damper, will be using a 100amp mini alt., if your stuff generally fits that description, or you know of links let me know, that's for the help.

The Vortech F-body kit mounts the factory alternator below the PS (factory bracket is completely deleted). Dunno if you still have PS or not. I can take some pictures if you want, but it fits down there quite well. Belt would be really short.

If you could snap some pics i would greatly appreciate it. do you happen to have links to where you bought this from? i swapped to manual a few years back so i have the void i could fit the alternator, are the brackets set up for normal/factory sized cases or mini cases?

very interested in this set-up, please give me any details and pics you can muster up, would like to get everything ordered tonight.

Re: lemme see alternator bracket set-ups

Well its bracketry for the standard Vortech supercharger F-body kit. You wouldnt want all that nonsense. However, I cant see why you couldnt fab up a bracket of similar fashion to mount in exactly the same location. I just looked at the thing last night, I think (its been a while since the install) that the through bolt on the alternator goes into the lower accessory mounting hole on the block. Fab up something to go between that bolt head and the alt, the other available accessory hole down there, and a slotted arm for the adjustment tab on the alt and you'd be all set.

Anyway I can take a pic and probably with a single plate cutout to size and a couple sleeves to space off the block would do it. I'm planning on a different belt myself and setting this thing up to be adjustable (its currently not, uses the factory passenger side tensioner still) so I can run a belt from the crank to the alt and thats it. Need a way to install that belt

Here's some pics I already have (just general view photos)

Re: lemme see alternator bracket set-ups

moroso sells a bracket for the regular small block for an alt. low on the drivers side, and works with most electric water pumps, is that what you are doing?

Re: lemme see alternator bracket set-ups

If you dont find a bracket, like the moroso listed above...

There's like a 3" long spacer between the alternator and lowest accessory mount bolt on the block. You can see the second bolt above that, and the tab all the way on the right side. I plan to slot my bracket so I can adjust this thing.
Guess I'd need to slot it almost vertically. No problem.

Re: lemme see alternator bracket set-ups

i cant post any pics (car at work) i made brackets for mine. i have a proform w/p with the big motor on the front of the pump so i had to mount the alt real low. i used the factory spacer tube that bolts to alt and one of the lower bolts on head, then made a brace to waterpump bolt to triangulate it (had to use several 3/8 by 7/8 spacers that i happened to have that i didnt use on my brakes just used a weld on bracket) it was nessacery to reduce the outside of the first spacer to sit flush in bolt hole in pump, for the tensioner side (i have a crank trigger so mine is more complex) i used the bolt that would hold the fuel pump rod in place for instalation and again used those aluminum spacers and part of the oe adjuster welded on a piece of flat stock, spaced it so the tensioning bolt goes in from the back, but that was just how the spacers worked out, i again had to reduce the od to fit inside the crank trigger bracket but without the trigger its flat makes for a real short belt (i do use a multi rib belt, thats what pulleys i have, i tested it to 7000 rpm and i dont know how many g's it took but its still on there, if you do this your stock lower rad hose will not fit i just went to the parts store and found one that made the right moves, when i put it on it fit better than the stock one lol, i may still have the napa tag, gotta look maybe i can get some pics too if this sounds like what you need
