So i just got my car put back together and i test drove it. I have a 010 block bored .060 over with a voodoo 268 cam (.489/.504 lift and 227/233 @.050), Perf. RPM air gap intake, demon 750 vac. sec. carb, and MSD 6al box, MSD dist and wires, Dougs Long tube headers into turndowns. I stoped and gave just about full throtle (like 3/4) and it took off like a slug up until about 2200 RPM then it started loosing traction (fish tailing) up to i let off at about 4000 RPM. Oh i have a TH350 with a 1800-2000 stall. Total timing is set at 32* and i have the med. springs in on the dist. Why do you think its so sluggis. Its so bad if feels like turbo lag. Any advice is appriciated.

You need more stall.

You might also be bogging (secondaries opening too soon).

What heads are you running? A little more timing may help as well (36 pretty typical for SBC's).

Re: why so slow?
vortec heads that have been milled .018. I think i figured it out. I bumped the timing up to 36 total and i had the vaccum hooked up wrong on my carb. to the dist. I had the vac. line going from the dist to the diagnostic port on the carb instead of vac. side. DUh. Running like a champ now. Im going to run it this Friday so i will let you guys know what it does. I also have the 3.23 gears so i know thats not helping me either though. But it moves better now.
