434ci time slips

Well today the track had an all day test and tune first pass went a 10.79 by the end of today I got a 10.49 and a 10.48 at 130.05 mph. My 60 ft are not that great 1.55 and 1.56s on 275-60-15 drag radials needs more coverter and gear. but it will work good on spray. I did all runs NA on pump gas with mufflers.

Chute? Only if you go over 150 mph but yes you do need a bunch of other stuff to go into the 9's.

Re: 434ci time slips

I took a slide hammer to the fender and door I also used a BFH It's not perfect. But I wanted to race I will wait untill the track shuts down in dec. and have it fixed. I looked on you're link and it says a chute I will have to look in the book I thought 150mph was the rule also.

Re: 434ci time slips

hey with 275 jets, it wont matter 150 no problem, the quick ref. guide seems to be without question , but most tracks let it slide from what i have seen, however i would like a chute back there, it takes a long time for factory brakes to stop one at 135, no less 150. i put aerospace front brakes on, and holy moly its stops on a dime now, at the local 1/8 mile track the shutdown area is 1/8 mile from 115 it was hard to slow enough to turn at the end, after i changed the brakes, i have to let off the brakes and coast the last 100 ft or so, on a 1/4 mile at 146 i made the second turn with ease, and i couldnt even think about it from 130 before. still i will be adding a chute this winter, maybe fall depending on the next day at the track. i have the bracket planed for the teather , and still decideing what launcher to get spring or air, i dont have anything else air so it is silly to do, but lighter from what i can gather.

Re: 434ci time slips

Thats an awesome 1/4 mile time for a pump gas SBC. Can you post more specifics about the combo, cam specs ect? I'm going to be building a 434 in a year or two, my goal is mid 10's N/A on pump gas with it.

Re: 434ci time slips

Need more specs
comp 11.25 to 1 custom wiseco pistons 15cc dish
LIL M block
6'' rod
Dart cnc 227 heads with a 30 deg back cut.
custom soild roller
Dur @ .050 I270 E280
Lift I.688 E.672
lobe sep 110
lash I.020 E.022
intake Keith dorton holley
carb 950HP
If I were to build another big inch motor with a standerd deck block I would do a 3.85 stroke for a stronger piston and better rod to stroke ratio. I also would use a little smaller cam dur at .050 I265 E275 with a 112 lobe sep. the rest of the specks the same. This motor just sound nasty when driving at lower RPMs.
