Fuel cell

I have just installed a fuel cell in my 82 camaro but have found out that it can not be in the drivers compartment. It is currently located in the very rear of the car and I was looking for some advice. I was told I could make a sealed box to put it in or I could fab a firewall that sealed against the glass. Please post comments of pics if you have as this is the finale piece before we can make a pass.
Thanks,
SMM

Re: Fuel cell

if you are going to take it to a track im pretty sure they are gonna want a firewall between you and the cell. i havent had mine to the track with the fuel cell in it yet but im going to put a firewall between us anyway. stephen can probably back me up on this. its probably a good idea to have one even if its just a street car with a cell.

Re: Fuel cell

You are going to need to block it off. I had made a metal cover that slid right over the cell and they passed me at a couple different tracks. I drilled a hole in the cover for the vent and was ready to go. Plus its just safer.

Re: Fuel cell

well i guess i will have to block off the back half, from where the back seats rest on the vertical to the roof ever seen anything like that. and what material would be best for a mod like that.
