Re: do i need a drive-shaft loop?

It's a bit of a grey area.

Driveshaft loop is mandatory on any vehicle running 13.99 and quicker using slicks or any vehicle running 11.99 and quicker with any tires.

Since drag radials have a DOT rating, they're not considered slicks but your tech inspectors may say otherwise. Call your local track and ask. They'll have the final say.

Install a driveshaft loop. I have one on my 15 second pickup truck.

I run Hoosier Quicktime Pro DOT's, which basically are slicks with two grooves in them. Since they are "DOT", they don't insist I run a driveshaft loop because I'm not that fast. I've got one anyway on the '57, have one for the Camaro but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Like Stephen says, it is a simple extra safety thing to do (guess I'd better get on it. . . ).

yeah, im gonna do it. When my car was in full street trim, the tech guys barely even looked at it. One time i didn't even have to pop the hood!!
I think they see alot of slow third gens.
