What class does your car fall into

I'm building a 406 w/ Brodix cylinder heads, Holley Stealth Ram intake, and 4340 crank & rods, hi-comp pistons, etc. I was looking at the NHRA rulelbook to see what class I would fit into & I didnt find one I fit into.
Is there a class for unlimited mods?

It's called ET brackets. It's based on your ET and nothing to do with modifications.

Each track seems to have it's own ET breaks but typically...

14.00 and slower is Sportsman
12.00-13.99 is Pro
11.99 and quicker is SuperPro

In Superpro, you're also allowed to use a delay box and throttle stop.

You won't fit into the Stock/Superstock classes with any of those modifications. If you can get it down to 10.90, you could run in Super Street.

Chances are you'll be in the Pro ET class.

Thanks, my bone stock TPI is running 12.4 @ 105. I'm hoping the new motor will us into the low 11's, mid to high 10's on the bottle.

Re: What class does your car fall into

Like I said, it depends on your local track's rules. Some allow Pro cars to run to 10.0. Others allow Pro cars to run to 7.50 or 8.50 with no electronics. Very rarely will you see SuperPro to run slower than 11.99. Having an overlapping ET break allows the quicker cars to stay in the Pro class without having to race against cars with electronics in SuperPro.

Since when is a delay box mandatory to run in SuperPro? A delay box is considered electronics. If you're running a footbrake or transbrake car without a delay box and you're quick enough to run in SuperPro, they can't stop you because you don't have a delay box.

Exactly, depending what track i'm at, payout, car count i pay close attention to the S/P car count and once in awhile stars align and i double enter pro and super pro. The delay box does not promise a good R/T. It does give a better shot at a good R/T since your getting a fresh hit at first light, but i can tell you from years of experience, the S/P guy's dont cut any better lights than the guys i run in pro...only difference, these guys have top notch equipment, years of experience so mistakes are very few and you have to be perfect each pass to get to the next round, but they're not that hard to beat if you know your stuff and know how they dial since most hold a little...they're trapping 170+mph, i'm trapping 125mph so their ability to drive the stripe is no better than mine, so it becomes a dial and dump game 90% of the time for both of us LOL!!

I wish our pro class was as tight as Stephens class break downs, would make my job extremely easy driving the stripe, but as it sits, my track is 0.00 to 12.99 so the door is wide open to whatever wants to run...so it does create problems with the huge mph differences we get, it also makes you a better driver since now your having to not only beat the tree, take the stripe, your also having to watch the other guys and see what they really run as opposed to what they're dialing, since sometimes you win by letting them have the finish line first just alot of BS in this game ya gotta pay attention too.
