im just curious of the variation of time in mostly stock cars are....

 

My 89 RS has a stock 305 TBI, 5 speed, 3.08's and a G80.
The only mods I am aware of, (recently bought) are aftermarket rims, (rear wider) shorty headers, high flow cat, flomaster muffler.
Other then that it's just a tire old beat up car.
Keep in mind it should be faster. The synchros in my tranny are bad, and I couldn't get it into second gear going down the track without slowing down.

I ran a best of 16.2
I think after I put my tranny in I will hit a mid 14 to a mid 15. If I'm lucky a 14.

 

When my car was completely stock 305 tpi 5speed it ran 14.8's with 2.1 60ft times. With better tires it could have went 14.5's-6's

 

I don't have the car anymore, but when I was in college (1992-1996), I had an '83 Trans Am with the L69 HO 305, 5 spd, 3.73's, and it only had a Dynomax cat back, gutted converter, K&N, removed inner air-cleaner lid (it had the functional cowl so without the small lid, air went straight to the carb), shortened stock shifter, and with plenty of practice and soft launches, I got it down to a best of 14.55 @ 99 mph. The car was a freak. No one believed it was a carbed 305, but I swear it was. It still had ex manifolds, stock intake and Quadrajet.

 

14.9 @ 92mph with my 86 LG4 Trans Am.
14.1 @ 99mph when I converted to a TPI setup with a cam. Engine was stuck in Limp Home mode due to non-function eproms.

My Formula was an Auto but is now a 5 speed and it's best is a 15.2 @ 93mph.
